The Wangaratta Historic Motor Show and Fly In held in 2021 continued to build on the event's tradition of showcasing classic vehicles and aircraft. Held on April 18 at the Wangaratta Airport, the event featured a diverse lineup of historic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and planes, celebrating automotive and aviation heritage. The Wangaratta Historic Motor Show, inaugurated in 2017, was a vibrant celebration of vintage vehicles, organised by Mick Daws, Richie Gardner, and John Coxhell. Inspired by their experiences travelling to other shows, they decided to create a local event in Wangaratta. Despite being organised in just three months, the first show, held at the Wangaratta Saleyards, was a resounding success. It featured an impressive array of classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles, bringing together various local committees to make it a community-driven event.
Encouraged by the success of the inaugural show, the organisers expanded the event's scope for its second iteration in 2019. Held at the Wangaratta Airport, the show introduced vintage aircraft alongside the motor displays, prompting a rebranding to the Wangaratta Historic Motor Show & Fly In. This evolution further solidified the event as a unique and cherished celebration of automotive and aviation history.
